As Phase 1 of the TROPHY project comes to a close, we are incredibly proud to look back at the massive impact and disruptive innovation we’ve achieved together. We didn't just meet our goals - we shattered expectations across both formal and informal education, proving that when academia, industry, and deep tech converge, incredible things happen.

The Department of E-Business at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON) recently had the distinct honor of presenting the outcomes of the FON Hakaton 2026 – WEB4 Challenge at the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MISANU). Beyond sharing the overall framework and tech milestones of the hackathon, the highlight of the session belonged to our students. Representatives from three finalist teams took the stage to pitch their developed prototypes and business models.

We are glad to announce that the TROPHY project is joining forces with SMACCs, lorAI, HCCC and SYNERGiNN communities for a high-impact joint Summer School in Thessaloniki, Greece! This intensive program hosted by CERTH brings together researchers, experts, and project partners to bridge the gap between advanced deep-tech, artificial intelligence, and real-world smart applications through hands-on sessions, industry keynotes, and cross-project collaboration.

The TROPHY project is creating a shared Funding & Innovation Resources Hub to support students, researchers, start-ups, educators, and innovation stakeholders working in deep tech and Web 4.0. We invite organisations, ecosystem builders, universities, and policymakers to contribute by sharing funding programmes, open calls, accelerators, and innovation resources from their regions. Your input will help shape a comprehensive guide making valuable opportunities more visible across Europe.

At the beautiful IESE Business School campus in Barcelona, EHMA 2026 once again brought together inspiring discussions on the future of healthcare. Prof. Dr. Marija Jevtic, MD PhD (Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad) successfully presented the TROPHY project poster: “Future-Proofing Digital Health: Deep Tech Innovation in University Ecosystems.”

On 5 June 2026, TROPHY MED DAY was held onsite at the Faculty of Medicine Novi Sad, University of Novi Sad, as an introductory event for the upcoming MF Hackathon, organized within the TROPHY project. The event brought together medicine, education, artificial intelligence, and deep tech innovation, with the aim of presenting TROPHY project activities and opening new opportunities for the involvement of students, teachers, and other stakeholders.

We are thrilled to share that our training program "Generative Artificial Intelligence in Modern Business" has successfully concluded! The true highlight of this program was the incredible diversity of the cohort, which brought together a rich mix of 25 academic and administrative staff members (teaching and non-teaching personnel). Innovation knows no boundaries, and we were proud to welcome professionals not only from the host Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON) but also from various other faculties and research institutes across the University of Belgrade and University of Novi Sad.

We are proud to share that the University of Maia participated in SIM Conference 2026, one of the largest entrepreneurship, innovation and investment events in Portugal, within the framework of the TROPHY project. More than 50 students from diverse academic backgrounds gained direct exposure to the entrepreneurial ecosystem through project presentations, interviews with entrepreneurs and investors, and hands-on networking with startups and innovation stakeholders.

We are excited to announce the upcoming training program "Generative Artificial Intelligence in Modern Business", customized specifically for the academic, research, and administrative staff at the University of Belgrade. This educational initiative focuses on the responsible, secure, and highly effective integration of GenAI tools into everyday academic and administrative workflows.

Last week, TROPHY partners gathered in Bilbao, Spain, to align on the next steps of the project and prepare for an impactful Phase 2. The meeting brought together partners from across the consortium to review progress so far, discuss key activities for the upcoming period, and align on the actions needed to successfully achieve project KPIs and objectives.

From challenge to solution - in just one day. On April 14, the Universidade da Maia - UMAIA x TROPHY Hackathon brought students together to tackle real-world challenges presented by leading organizations such as adidas, Liga Portugal, and FC Porto.

Following our successful bootcamp, we took things to the next level with a high-intensity hackathon. Over 60 participants across 20 teams worked tirelessly, guided by expert mentors, to transform bold ideas into functional deep tech solutions. The energy culminated in the grand finale held on April 4th at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON), where the top 12 teams presented their innovative projects.

As part of the TROPHY project, the Web4 Bootcamp 2026 was successfully completed! With over 100 students participating both in-person and online, this year’s bootcamp was a massive success.

As part of the TROPHY project, the Alumni Talk – Special Edition on Entrepreneurship, hosted by the Universidade da Maia - UMAIA, brought students closer to real entrepreneurial journeys. Instead of theory, the session focused on honest conversations - covering challenges, failures, key decisions, and growth after graduation.

Last week, all TROPHY project partners gathered in Belgrade at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Organizational Sciences for a two-day on-site partners meeting.

The Deep Tech Intro Program 2025, organized by the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Organizational Sciences and Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), within the EIT HEI project TROPHY, is currently in progress and approaching its final sessions.

The Association for Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies (UBIK) is hosting the two-day workshop “Basics in Cryptocurrency Literacy” as part of the TROPHY Deep Tech Leaders project. 📍 Faculty of Economics, Osijek 📅 December 12–13, 2025 ⏰ Day 1: 4–9 PM | Day 2: 11 AM–4 PM

The Summer School "E-Business Technologies 2025" at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON), University of Belgrade, provided students with practical and theoretical knowledge in Web4, Generative AI, and Blockchain. Through hands-on labs and mentored sprints, participants developed functional mini-project prototypes. The program successfully enhanced digital skills and entrepreneurship capacities among students, with certificates awarded upon completion.

For the 3rd year in a row, students have a unique opportunity to explore various aspects of blockchain technology and gain a deep understanding through the Blockchain Bootcamp 2025 project. The Bootcamp is organized by Blockchain Laboratory at FON and Cirkuliranje, providing comprehensive training in blockchain development and Web3 technologies.
